Matt Burr is the founding member and drummer for Vermont rock n' roll band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. A self taught player, Burr has been turning heads his entire career with an unorthodox style, which incorporates unique stylings reminiscent of pocket drummers like Ringo Star, Nick Mason, Mick Fleetwood, and Levon Helm. What makes him even more versatile is his ability to flick the switch and unleash impressive girth and acrobatics. Burr is most widely heralded for his joyful onstage energy and full band drum solo.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals self titled album debuted at #19 on the Billboard charts and Rolling Stone magazine awarded the group with "Best New Band" honors. Following a performance at the Wiltern Theatre, a writer at The Los Angeles Weekly said Burr is "probably the most stunning drummer I've ever witnessed."
