Alberto Vargas is a professional drummer and percussionist who began his career at the age of 17 with various local Venezuelan bands. Through out his career, he acquired extensive experience playing many different styles of music from rock to latin jazz and salsa. Alberto has extensive recording experience as well.

He has won a Latin Grammy for recording the CD “ Como Se Llega a Belen ” with the widely popular Venezuelan band “ Voz Veis ,” and received a nomination for recording with Nino Segarra on the CD “De Nino a Nino.” He has also recorded with Gloria Estefan , Tecupae, Mermelada Bunch, and Doris Machin. Currently, he works with the New Wine music group, the home praise and worship band for Ministerio Internacional El Rey Jesus , the largest Hispanic Christian church in the United States.

His education began at the Maracaibo conservatory of music and continued at Cepromusic in Caracas, Venezuela. Studying with various teachers, he acquired the skills and concepts necessary to establish a solid music career in Venezuela.

Today, he is the full time drummer/percussionist for New Wine music group in Miami, Florida. His functions include playing in the praise and worship band during the services at El Rey Jesus church, which are streamed lived via the internet throughout the U.S, South and Central America, as well as recorded for broadcast on the Enlace/TBN, Daystar cable networks and the Univision television network.The church services are streamed live via the internet four times during the week throughout the U.S, Mexico, Central and South America, and around the world to millions of people that connect to watch these services on a weekly basis.

He also tours with the group throughout South and Central America with the their pastor, the widely recognized Guillermo Maldonado.

New Wine Music is a powerful and impacting music group/label that generates powerful praise and worship in different styles, rhythms, and sounds capable of ministering people's hearts, establishing God's presence, and generating a true change in the lives of its listeners. The musicians, vocalists, and psalmists that make up New Wine have been spiritually cared for, guided, trained, and equipped with all the necessary resources to achieve excellent results. We are certain these innovative sounds will touch the hearts of people from all different races, cultures, languages, ages, and beliefs This is the reason we strive to meet the highest standards set by today's music industry and why we seek the excellence needed to produce projects that are spiritually and musically edifying. Together, we are able to meticulously attend to detail as to the content of each song, recording, musical editing, coordinating events, and the distribution of each production through ERJ Publications. Currently, the New Wine music group has 4 cd's recorded,2 live DVD concerts, and in the process of completing its 5th project.
