Joanna Dabrowska is the Principal Timpanist of the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic based in Alexandria, VA, and also performs with various groups throughout the Baltimore-Washington DC Metro area, including the McLean Orchestra, Brass of the Potomac, and the Capital City Symphony.

Ms. Dabrowska serves as Percussion Faculty at the International School of Music in Bethesda, MD. She is the Founder and Music Director of the Mercury Rising Percussion Ensemble, which is a supplemental program open to all percussion students that provides opportunities for them to perform in one of two ensembles based on experience. Beginning in 2010, she will also direct the ISM Percussion Ensemble. Ms. Dabrowska offers percussion lessons throughout Maryland with emphasis on general percussion, drum set, timpani, and all mallet instruments. Many of her students have successfully auditioned for numerous advanced programs in Maryland, including the Baltimore School for the Arts, Maryland All State Band, Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, Howard County GT Bands, and various music festivals.
