Sammy J Watson and his trio band The Apex Theory have harnessed their unique chemistry into a NEW 15 minute musical opus (EP) titled, "Lighpost". Following this will be a full length record which will spawn sometime in the summer of 2007. With a constant push towards the next stage, The Apex Theory continues to breathe new life into themselves by resonating a distinct mixture of heartfelt energy and sound. Sammy J. also teaches in the Percussion Dept. at The Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. Sammy specializes in odd meter grooving, polly-rhythms, drum-n-bass, double bass drumming, basic to advanced rudiments, independence, and a over all study of multiple musical styles.

Sammy also toured with Ricky Lee Jones on the H.O.R.D.E. Festival, as well as Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Snow Core and many others with The Apex Theory.
