Penny Larson, the daughter of a drummer, first picked up sticks at the age of three. After several years marching in Drum & Bugle Corps layered with concurrent drum set studies, she began teaching when she was sixteen. She is an alumna of Berklee College of Music and has studied with Vance Gordon, Skip Hadden, Ed Kaspik, and many others. With over twenty-five years of teaching experience, Penny has developed an extensive and adaptable curriculum suitable for drum set students of all levels, with interests in any style and technique.

In addition to teaching, Penny is a founding member of the progressive instrumental rock band Hypaspace, with whom she has toured the United States and Canada. She is also currently performing with the Steve Marchena Jazz Experience, as well as numerous freelance drum set and percussion dates in and around the Greater Boston area.
