Tony Tedesco, drummer with jazz guitarist/ vocalist John Pizzarelli, has parlayed his experience as a New York free-lance artist, into a career that encompasses many facets of the music world. Over the years, he has toured with many top vocalists and entertainers including Peggy Lee, Perry Como, Vic Damone, Chris Connor, Dick Haymes, , Mickey Rooney, Donald OConnor, and Milton Berle. He has performed on major television shows from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Mike Douglas Show, Phil Donahue, and Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder, up to todays shows of David Letterman and Conan OBrien. His wide variety of experience in the New York City music scene has included work on many jingles and recordings, along with performances with the New York City Opera, movie appearances and recording for Woody Allens films Crimes and Misdemeanors and Celebrity, and having the drum chair for various Broadway shows including the Tony Award winning revival of 42nd Street. His gig with John Pizzarelli has him touring at major venues, concert halls and jazz festivals throughout the world. With a bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music, where he also was a faculty member, and a Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music, Tony is still active in the education community as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University. He was recently the subject of a profile feature in Modern Drummer Magazine (October 2011).
